This is a rare, truly vintage, Bike Friday in extremely good condition. It has a special version of decals that have each letter of “Bike Friday” cut out individually. This style of decals were not used for very long, perhaps only a year or two. The lovely purple paint color has not been used for 20 years and we can not re-produce it now. This bike also has all the original Shimano RSX and Sachs 3×7 components on it in very good working condition. It was clearly well cared for and not ridden very many miles even though it was built decades ago. It was recently given back to use by the original owner who no longer rides bikes.
New 10 Year Warranty! We have closely inspected the frame of this bike and it is in great condition, to the point that we are happy to give it another 10 year frame warranty. We want Bike Fridays to be ridden, until they can’t be any longer, and this one still has many good miles left on it.
This would be a great bike for someone with a tight budget, retro-grouch values and happens to be the right size. It comes with its original suitcase and accessories included in the price.
This would also be a great bike for someone who likes to collect rare folding bike history, but we do hope it gets ridden some more…
Special note about the drive train:
This bike does have its original Sach 3spd internal rear hub coupled with a 7 speed cassette. These parts are all in good functional condition with many more miles still on them. However when the Sachs 3spd internal hub wears out you will have a challenging time finding replacement parts. You may have to change more than one part together to insure compatibility. The frame will still be able to take modern parts on the market but they will not be exactly the same set up as what this bike has now.
