The original Pocket Rocket has been over the Alps, across continents, and out of a countless airports, going places no other road bike could go. For years now, many Bike Friday riders have been telling us where they want to take it next, further, off the pavement.
Gravel riding grew from a natural desire to stray from the beaten path, escape the traffic, and explore what’s out there past the pavement. Riders trading routes, organizing their own events, finding out just how far the unpaved roads go.

The Pocket Rocket Further takes the bike thousands have loved and turns it from the ultimate traveling road bike into a gravel machine, ready to eat up the rough stuff wherever you are in the world. It’s the first Bike Friday designed for gravel from the start, with every modification made specifically for the job.
With a widened fork and frame it clears tires up to 1.6″, our widest ever on a road bike. This opens the door to gravel roads and back-country routes world wide. This new bike design also comes with five other upgrades making it compatible with all modern road bike components. We have focused on the most universal standards we could so you’ll be able to service your bike for decades to come.
- Flat mount disc brakes, the universal drop-bar standard that every major brand fits
- Hydraulic disc brake option, braze-ons and mounts that fit several brands
- Thru-axles (12×100 / 12×142): stiffer, more precise, no rotor rub
- UDH hanger with SRAM Full Mount provision: replaceable at any bike shop on earth, ready for direct-mount drivetrains
- Modular rear dropouts: swappable and adaptable as standards evolve
And because it’s a Bike Friday, the Further does what Bike Friday Pocket Rockets have always done and no other gravel bike can: it folds. Which matters, because gravel isn’t one thing.
