PERFORMANCE THAT PACKS, BICYCLES THAT FLY

Welcome to Bike Friday

Welcome to Bike Friday, where we believe the bicycle is still the most efficient, human-centred form of transportation ever designed.

We exist to offer elegant, personal solutions to modern problems: reducing reliance on car culture, supporting healthier lives, and strengthening communities, one thoughtfully built bike at a time.

Each Bike Friday is made to order, because every rider is different. We listen first, build with care, and stand behind our work. We don’t just want to build bikes; we want to build long-term relationships rooted in service, not just transactions.

Our guiding belief is simple: a bicycle should amplify your life. It should fit you, reflect you, and be there when you need it wherever you are in the world.

A New Fixation

I spent most of one summer of my youth riding a fixed gear, of sorts. It was a unicycle. Fixed gear on two wheels? Not so much. I’m not a fixie type. Oh, I took one of the U.S. Cycling Federation Project ’96 Super Bikes for a spin once, back when I spent my time […]

The ultimate test

I had been bopping around town with my Pocket Llama, lovin’ life. I gravitated to the Llama because I used to ride my mountain bike all the time. Yes, I was one of those who rode my dual-suspension mountain bike on the road as much as off. That’s because I call it my comfort bike. […]

On a lighter note

John Greenfield, an acquaintance of Lynette Chiang from Chicago, saw the new website and thought visitors might be interested in viewing his  “Bike Friday” song (an homage to the Internet hit “Friday” by Rebecca Black).

Welcome to the neighborhood

When Jeff Looker and Al Cappello decided to start selling Bike Fridays at their PortaPedal Bike Shop in Tempe, AZ, they weren’t exactly sure what they were in for. Then Jeff went on the 14th Annual Ride for the Children in April. He rode his Bike Friday and donned a Bike Friday jersey just for […]

Bike Friday’s Toy Story

When Kirk Toy pops out of his chair, bolts to the door and offers a welcoming hand with a warm smile, it’s more than just the Bike Friday Standard Operating Procedure for greeting a guest. That’s because Kirk wrote our book on Showroom etiquette. It’s easy for him. It comes naturally. “I don’t know how […]

Photos from the road …

Phil Liggett (left) and Paul Sherwen pose with the Carbon Drive tikit at the 2011 Tour of California. You see photographs like this and just wonder.  How does one get the likes of the hallow voices of cycling, Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen, to pose with your bike? Oh, we suppose the short answer would […]
