PERFORMANCE THAT PACKS, BICYCLES THAT FLY

Welcome to Bike Friday

Welcome to Bike Friday, where we believe the bicycle is still the most efficient, human-centred form of transportation ever designed.

We exist to offer elegant, personal solutions to modern problems: reducing reliance on car culture, supporting healthier lives, and strengthening communities, one thoughtfully built bike at a time.

Each Bike Friday is made to order, because every rider is different. We listen first, build with care, and stand behind our work. We don’t just want to build bikes; we want to build long-term relationships rooted in service, not just transactions.

Our guiding belief is simple: a bicycle should amplify your life. It should fit you, reflect you, and be there when you need it wherever you are in the world.

Adventure Cyclist review

Patrick O’Grady spent some time reviewing our 2011 New World Tourist with the Select Group, and his conclusions appear in the June issue of Adventure Cyclist magazine, the official publication of the Adventure Cycling Association — a great resource for touring. Just thought we’d share a couple of excerpts: “Abandon your preconceived notions and ride […]

Tandemonium Band!

Our famous Bike Friday Tandemonium Band, which made an award-winning performance at the 2011 Eugene Celebration Parade, has been immortalized in photos on the City of Eugene homepage [it rotates with some other photos on the top left]. That’s pretty cool.

Bike Friday wins Partnership Award

Bike Friday was honored June 12 by winning the  Partnership Award at the Eugene Cascades & Coast/Travel Lane County Visitor Industry Celebration  at the University of Oregon Ford Alumni Center. Co-Founder Alan Scholz was on hand with his wife Teresa to receive the award, which was presented to a group, business or individual that has […]

On the Trail

It’s not like I would ever strap on body armor, take a ski lift to the top of a mountain and blast my way down on my Pocket Llama. I’m not really a mountain biker. I just ride my Bike Friday on trails. Which is why I get it when a baggy pants dude raises […]

Lunch Date

[EDITOR’S NOTE: Clifton Johnson is one of many Bike Friday owners who have come to work for the company.] My family owns five New World Tourists now, and a Tandem Two’sDay.  I have used my NWT (with internal hub) to commute to/from work every day since 2008 (no matter the weather). I have had my […]

Seattle’s Best: Finding the Sweet Spot

In general, my rule is simple. When in a city, head for the hills. More often than not, of course, that means heading out of town. To the country. That’s what makes Seattle something special. Wherever I am in or near Seattle, I’m drawn to the city. Because it isn’t really city cycling. At least […]
