Stack order of Parts
note: shown without grease for clarity. Make sure to use plenty of grease on the bearings
Stack Sequence, starting from top to bottom:
lower crown race – this piece is pressed on to the fork crown
rubber seal – place one of the rubber seals as shown
bearing retainer – place one bearing retainer as shown, make sure it’s not upside-down!
lower cup – this piece is pressed into the bottom of the bike frame’s head tube
upper cone race – this piece is pressed into the top of the bike frame’s head tube
rubber seal – place one of the rubber seals as shown
bearing retainer – place one bearing retainer as shown, make sure it’s not upside-down!
adjustable cup nut – this piece threads on to the fork and is used to adjust bearing tension
washer – place on top of adjustable nut as shown
lock nut – threads on to steer tube, tightens against adjustable cup nut to hold it in place
