Why Prices Are Changing

During the 2025 tariff challenges we kept our bike prices steady, shouldering most the burden of cost volatility. Shipping costs have also become volatile around the world and we have chosen to shoulder the burden of increased costs in most cases there as well. Now in 2026 we are forced to raise prices to match the increased costs. We continue to work really hard to source the best price for the best parts on our bikes. The average increase is about 9% for Bike Fridays, some component costs are more. Shipping and component costs continue to be volatile.

We Fight Against Pricing Games

The last 5 years have given many big challenges to bike manufacturers in setting prices and keeping sales steady and factories working. These challenges have resulted in an unprecedented number, and size, of discounts across the industry. This started when the industry needed to move through the large inventory build up during the pandemic’s high demand for bikes, and subsequent crash in demand after that. To compensate, some manufacturers raised their base prices significantly, then discounted heavily. This created a cycle where sales became the expected way to buy. We can’t afford to match that approach because we’re already pricing our bikes as low as we sustainably can. This year, we’re working to move away from relying on big sales. By keeping our price increases restrained, we hope our customers will continue to recognize the exceptional value they’re investing in every day, and not just during sales windows.
