Double to triple chainring conversion

Symptoms

I have a 1999 Pocket Rocket Pro with double Ultegra chainrings. How can I upgrade it to a triple?

Causes

Upgrading would not be difficult but would require quite a few parts.

Solutions

You would need: a left triple STI shifter, a triple front derailleur, a longer bottom bracket, a third chainring, and a chainring spacer kit. You would not need an actual triple crank set as you can mount three rings on a double set up.
