Who doesn't love a custom bike? Bike Friday was great responding to my many emails about bike fit, parts and when I changed my mind on parts. I got the All-Packa, it rides great and has become my favorite bike for the fact that I get "bonus" rides by having a folding bike that goes on family trips where a full size bike doesn't fit.
My All-Packa has arrived in Abu Dhabi. My expectations have been exceeded. I absolutely love this bike. Walter set me up nicely and made sure the bike was built to spec. His expertise and suggestions reference the sizing was spot on. I swear this bike is as comfortable to ride as my Colnago C64 (that was professionally fitted). The All-Packa is very solid. I cannot tell that I'm riding a folding frame. I don't know what kind of wizardry they are using but it works.
I want to thank Walter for his help setting me up, Julia for following up with my order and providing updates and Todd for letting me know the bike was on it's way and tracking it en-route.
If you are thinking about getting a bike from Bike Friday and is humming and hawing over making a decision.......DO IT, you will not regret it!!!
I've wanted a travel bike for so long and finally got the All-Packa, I like going dirt roads and paths over paved roads so this fits the bill. On top of that I have all the mounts for bikepacking and hoping to get out soon. So far I've taken this on a weekend trip, random days with the family and I got to sneak away for a ride. This bike has given me a chance to have "bonus" rides where I wouldn't normally have a bike with me.
This summer I'll be going to France for a self guided bike tour on the Canal du Midi with my family. I got some slick tires (KHE Mac2 20x2.3) and it has changed the bike to a smooth rolling supple bike. It will be so good having my own bike instead of renting a bike and trying to dial in the fit. I'm looking forward to some adventures with the bike!
I bought a very lightly used first design All- Packa from a colleague. What a great bike. It handles our Montana trails very well and is compatible with my 5’11” long legged frame OR my 5’1” wife with a quick change to a shorter seatpost and handlebar stem. So now with this and my NWT we have two foldable bikes to take on road trips with our small SUV and travel trailer.
I haven’t had a chance to tour or Bikepack with it yet but may consider bringing it to New Zealand next year.
The Packalope bars and 1x gearing work fine. I have a sub 20 inch low gear and the high gear is pretty small, but can still pedal to 20-24 mph, plenty for this bike - no road racing needed. The 2.4 inch tires are plenty wide; for me I see no need to go bigger with the 2024 redesign.
Since I have first seen an All-Packa at Guten Biken in Munich, I could not stop thinking about all the things you can do with this bike. Since I build my All-Packa in 2023, it has been on many, many trips - packed up in seconds to be taken on train, bus and even airplanes. It went across the rocky hills of Southern England and the gravel roads of Italy. It is so versatile that I cannot think of a case where this bike wouldn't excel.
Thanks so much to the great people at Bike Friday for making this bike.
I am very, VERY happy with my All-Packa. It's a whole new and exciting view to me what is possible going "Rinko" aka. TrainBikePacking.
Frame was bought from Fabian and David at "GutenBiken" located in Munich. Pretty nice guys!
Btw ... the installed Growtac brakes are so impressive. I totally love them. First I got only blue ones, which are on the pics but now supply catched up and the Black Swan got black ones, too. Waiting still for my black coated King Cages, that will finish an already outstanding dream built.
I love my All-Packa, which was delivered last year during Thanksgiving week. I love that it's so versatile, enabling me to ride on a variety of terrain. It's also so peppy that I sometimes feel like I'm on an eBike.
I've ridden it on the roads to work and over gravel trails near my home. I purchased a Samsonite Novaire and packed it in June for a 10-day trip to the Netherlands which included a 5-day self-guided tour sponsored by Holland Bike Tours.
I struggled with GPS, but the bike was great over the flat roads and trails from Haarlem to Gouda to Bosschenhoofd to Middelburg to Delft and back to Haarlem, nearly 300 miles. The longest ride was 103 km out of Middelburg to Delft, a lovely canal town famous for it's blue-painted pottery. Storm warnings were issued the day before the ride and the proprietor of one store, as were were talking about my long ride the following day, said, "Take the train." Headwinds were predicted to reduce cycling speeds to under 8 mph.
The rain ended up stopping at 9 am and the predicted winds turned into tail ones and I sped along route, which included crossing North Sea bridges four times, at an average of 15 mph. The All-Packa was my steady and comfortable guide.
My trip in the Netherlands passed through farmland and small towns where I saw windmills, goats, horses, sheep, cows, Medieval churches, cafes, and thousands of people cycling on the amazing network of protected bike lanes, paths, trails, and multi-use roads.
A few weeks later I brought the All-Packa to Idaho for a 5-day camping and self-guided bike trip along the Coeur d'Alenes bike trail, rated as one of the most scenic trails in America, sponsored by Adventure Cycling. While the almost entirely flat and paved terrain was perfect for the All-Packa, she did even better on the 16-mile downhill gravel experience along the Route of the Hiawatha Trail, where I got covered in mud and dust.
The owner of Holland Bike tours was skeptical when I told him I was bringing my own folding bike for the tour there, but once he saw the bike and got on it, he knew it was built for anything.
I love my All-Packa. Have I said that already?
Thanks,
Steven Friedman

If you’re a Bikepacker who uses busses, trains, taxis or hitchhiking in your adventures, the All Packa is hands down the best tool for the job.
It rides just like a normal bike and handles off-roading amazingly, hauls gear super well, and when you need it to fit into any kind of luggage compartment, it just fits in there.
No need to argue with bus drivers so they’ll let you on their bus! No need to argue with taxi drivers or search for a big taxi after a long flight! No need to leave the bike at the lobby of the hotel or leave it outside!
Just fold the bike and travel like you don’t even have a bike with you:)

( fixedgear custom all packa) over 5000 miles on my all packa in the time I’ve owned it and a few trips by train, plane and bus! Gives me a smile every time I pedal it weather it’s a simple commute or a single track bikepacking adventure!

Fun touring bike for short to medium days. Important to keep the majority of packed weight low on the forks and as low as possible in the rear.
David and Elaine –
We have enjoyed traveling, fully packed and unpacked, nearly 5000 miles on our Bike Friday All Packa’s- Pinkie and Purple Haze (since we received them in August 2024) in several states and Canada and have enjoyed the bicycles performance and overall comfort. We are currently scheduled (April 2026) to ride our Bike Fridays on several rail trails in the Northeast and Southern States of the United States for 3-4 weeks and are planning an international trip to ride both the North and South Islands of New Zealand and portions of Southern Australia. We have purchased Grin Technologies Ligo 10x batteries so we can travel by plane (with our pedal assist equipped Bike Fridays) and expect our journey’s will be trouble free. So far so good, we have only experienced some minor problems with our bicycles, which were easily resolved with the wonderful support from staff at Bike Friday and are confident of continued trouble free travels in our future.
Thank you, David and Elaine, Pray-Pedal-Camp-Repeat

I am the proud new “mama” of “El Pakitan”, the name some friends came up with for my recently-purchased (12/2025) Bike Friday All-Packa. I am thrilled with this bike, and the entire purchasing process was so smooth and supported. Here’s my Bike Friday story…
I have had my eye on a Bike Friday bike since the late 1990’s. That’s a long time to wait! The recent purchase was encouraged after a summer bike tour with Adventure Cycling. The fabulous tour leader was on her Bike Friday New World Tourist. I was impressed by the load she could carry and the speed in which she could ride that bike. Granted, she is a strong, fit rider, but she rode with finesse! Then, one of my cycling friends who was on this same tour found a used BF (I am not sure of the model) on Craigslist. I had a blast on a little test ride on this bike. The BF Bug is real.
I was already in the market for a gravel bike. But a packable bike was also on my radar. My friend and I had been poking around on Craigslist for a used BF. Then, in an internet hunt, I found the All-Packa version Bike Friday that was built for the MADE bike show in Portland OR late summer 2025, and it was love at first sight. Better yet, there was a nice discount offer following the show. Suddenly, I was in contact with Walter, one of BF’s amazing sales reps.
I can’t remember all of the details of the ordering process, but it was detailed enough to get me what I wanted, but not at all complicated. I love to ride, and do a lot of it, but I don’t know a lot about specs and components. So Walter helped me get the appropriate components for my needs. The form also had a fitting section, which translated into a great fit on my new All-Packa. A few of what I consider upgrades on the order for my 2025 All-Packa include the through hub (I had to wait until December 2025 for these models to roll out of the factory, but totally worth the wait!) tubeless wheel set, dropper post, and quick release pedals. Whenever I had a question, Walter responded quickly to it.
When the date for the finished bike approached, he help me set up an appointment to pick it up. I live a few hours away, so I was able to pick it up at the factory and was even able to have a factory tour. A couple of cycling friends, one of which is the afore-mentioned BF owner, joined me. Their factory in Eugene, OR is adjacent to a bike path, so I was able to take it on a test ride. Afterwards, Walter (yes, the same Walter I had been communicating with for over 3 months!) provided a lesson on the quick fold in their parking lot. He was also a willing participant in the All-Packa reveal surprise (long story).
The fit of the bike is spot on, the ride was sturdy and smooth. I found a little patch of “dirt” Walter told me about so took it briefly off-trail. It rode great! I have taken it on several multi-surface rides since I have had it home. It has performed well on nearby trails that I usually take my mountain bike on. I am not a technical trail rider, so these trails are appropriate for this bike. It climbs exceptionally well! I love that I can ride it up the road, then hop on some gravel that eventually turns into single track and this bike handles it all with ease.
I purchased both the BF Travel Bag and the BF Travel Case with all the packing material. My plan is to use the Travel Bag in situations when I would just do the quick fold to pack it onto a bus, for example. And of course, the suitcase is for more exotic travel. I have to admit, since I have only had the bike for a few weeks, I have not taken it anywhere…yet!
I think this will be the perfect travel bike for me, since it rides so well both on pavement and gravel/dirt. I have found some of the bike packing gear I already own that works, and will continue to work on outfitting it for touring. There is a lot of information available in the “Bike Friday Community” social media posts.
I also appreciate that Bike Friday is a small, family-run business that shares my beliefs regarding the environment and human-powered travel. I am happy to support everyone involved in the production of this bike that I know will be out adventuring for years to come, and it will receive support when needed by the company.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase. BF Customer Service is amazing, the bike is thus far what I had hoped for. Thank you, BF for all the upcoming adventures on “El Pakitan”!
