This amazing custom tandem was hand built by Bike Friday Co-founder Hanz Scholz so he and his young daughter Gretta could race tandems together. The stoker compartment was designed to adjust to fit his daughter from young childhood through adulthood. They had success in several races, then she moved on to ski racing and mountain bikes! Hanz now wants someone else to enjoy tandem racing with their children.

The TiLite XL tandem has thin, oversized tubing for the ultimate in race-ready stiffness and smooth ride quality. In addition to the titanium masts and mid-tubes, the lightweight chromoly tubing has extensive scalloping for style and reduced weight. Already only 34lbs, with modern components this tandem would be less than 30 lbs!
