Cap's Bicycle Shop: NEW WESTMINSTER, BC

Gordon runs a family business in Sapperton that has been operating for over 60 years. Cap, Gordon’s dad, started the business in 1932 and Gordon carries on the family tradition.

Gordon likes the bike culture and the timelessness of bikes – after all, you can’t find computers in the 1954 phone book! And this continues to build the Cap’s Sapperton philosophy that you don’t just buy a bike, but you also buy a bike shop. At Cap’s, we strive to understand what you need and want in a bike and finds the right equipment so you can accomplish what you want to.

Gordon has also maintained the family’s commitment to the community. Cap’s Bicycles continues to be part of the Hyack Parade and the Santa Claus Parade, as well as host the Sapperton Street Bike Festival.

Gordon’s favorite biking memory is almost doing a wheelie one time (so close!), and his bike tip is to keep your tires inflated – hard tires roll faster!

“Having a family business sure adds a lot of variety and excitement to our lives,” says Gordon, “I thank my dad every day for getting the ball rolling. I am proud of what he accomplished and look forward to carrying it on.”
