Bike Friday: Racing Green New World Tourist Colony was named after the Italian Swiss Colony wine company in Asti, California. She feels lucky not to have been named Italian or Swiss, which her parents claim were their first choices. As she is neither Italian nor Swiss, this could have posed some difficulties. (Although, technically, she is not a colony, either. But she is an Aunt Colony.) Colony grew up in the Crow Road area of Eugene (host to the Bike Friday noon rides) where "a ride around the block" was an 8 mile trip. She is madly in love with her shiny new Racing Green New World Tourist.
