OR - Bend Chapter
Celia Leber with others in Bend OR
My cycling friends in Maine were very impressed at how well my cute little bike climbs their heinous (10%+ grade) hills!

CLOSE TO the home of Bike Friday, is Bend, epicenter for outdoor sports. The air is crisp and the dry, the cafes chic and the cycling is outstanding. What better reason to visit and ride with the Bike Friday Club of Bend? Celia says" I am new to Bend, and also new to Bike Friday - I just bought one from my friend Karen. My husband and I own a bike touring company in Bend called Wild Heart Cycling. We offer scheduled and custom tours throughout Oregon. Our tours are self-contained (no SAG wagon), with meals provided by the guides and/or at restaurants. We stay in yurts, hotels and/or campgrounds, depending on the particular tour. We would love to share our passion for bicycling in Oregon with Bike Friday owners.

My own preference would be a weeknight every other week until it starts getting dark too early, then figure out what works for everyone in Fall/Winter. As far as pace, I am up for conversational rides and/or structured workouts, depending on the interests of the group. I hope that the group would be willing to regroup several times during the ride if we have riders of different levels. No rider left behind!

INAUGURAL RIDE: Wednesday, July 27th, 2005 at 5PM. Meet in front of El Caporal in Tumalo. 33 miles, easy-moderate pace, a few hills. Nice rural scenery, lots of alpacas and llamas, views of the Cascades.
