Handlebars

I've just come back from a very windy week in Lanzarote. My New World Tourist performed admirably, but I watched some of the big-wheeled racers enviously as they used triathlon bars. Do you know if anybody has successfully used tri-bar type attachments on the Bike Friday, and does it badly affect stability?
