Our Boston BF Club Leader Anna Kleinfeldt with studded tire Pocket Llama.
The Bike Friday Club of Boston has been hosting monthly rides rain, hail or avalanche ever since they started in 2001. Contact the leaders to ride with them, and to find out where they got those funny studded tires for their funny folding bikes!
So, how did the Boston BF Club, also known as B.A.G.G. (Boston Area Green Gear - how cute!) Cyclists - celebrate January 31, 2004, the end of the coldest January since 1889?
Well, they put studded 20" tires on their Pocket Llamas and Air Llamas and rode out on the iced ponds on February 1st!
Photos here prove their mettle. The ride ended in time to watch their local football team become Superbowl champions ...
Studded tires are the way to conquer the challenges of winter on your BF (apart from folding it up and putting it in the closet).
