Hello Friday Friends in Australia,
Greets from your roving Customer Evangelist ... Bike Friday is heading for Brizzy in July. I'm traveling from Sydney with my Express tikitTM via lo-hydrocarb train rather than plane, thanks to our Brisbane dealer Epic Cycles. Please note this demo model will be for sale for an as-is retail price of $1200* when its downunder tour of duty is complete - no sense schlepping it back to Eugene. Zero shipping if sold in Brisbane or Sydney. I depart for the USA August 6. *Normally this bike would be $1390 USD, plus shipping $300, plus 10% GST.
So... please join us for the following events: a mini-sustainability symposium (Sat July 5), a Bike Friday Adventure Film Fest (Wed July 9) and a Bike Friday Club social ride (Sat July 12). I can be contacted any time via email lynettec@bikefriday.com or cell 0420 968 967.
Welcome New Bike Friday Australian dealers and tikitTM agents: We've been working hard on setting up dealers in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra (see how we're doing at www.bikefriday.com/dealers).
They are so new they haven't quite got test models on the floor yet, but will soon. Feel free to call them, pop in and introduce yourself as a member of the fold, congratulate them on their fine decision to represent your trusty travel companion.
Joining Epic Cycles (81 Baroona Rd., Paddington, Queensland 4064 Phone: 61 7 3368 2324) in Brisbane, a long time Bike Friday Test Ride Dealer, you will soon see Bike Friday Bicycles at the following locations:
In Melbourne: Cycle Science 478 Whitehorse Road in Mitcham Phone: 03 9874 8033
In Sydney: Bike Bar 228 Oxford St. in Bondi
Phone : 61 2 9525 7552
In Canberra: Cycle City, on the corner of Wattle & Hall Street in Lyneham, Phone 02 6249 1806
We are still looking for a Dealer location in Perth, so if you have a favorite local bike shop there, please email Australian rep Peter Berra and let him know about them.
Sydney folks - staying in the loop: BF Club of Sydney leaders Christine and George Floyd have done an amazing job organizing rides for you over the past few years. They travel a lot and may not be able to provide you with the same generous attention from now on. So join the Australian Bike Friday Club Message Board, a YAHOO group, to stay in touch with local Fridays and propose rides and events in your area. As this is an Australia-wide list, please take care to always prefix your post with the city you are in. Of course, you can always contact the Australian Bike Friday Club founders themselves, Margaret Day and Bronwyn Laing, with questions.
